GVG Development Timeline

Jan. 2005: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration gives the go-ahead for CPP's Phase I clinical trial of GVG for the treatment of addiction.

Dec. 2004: CPP, the company that owns the license to GVG for the treatment of addiction, filed an investigational new drug application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to run the first clinical test of GVG in humans in the U.S.

2004: second human clinical trial results, testing GVG's effectiveness as a treatment for cocaine and methamphetamine addiction with additional data on safety and side effects published.

2003: results from the first human clinical trial testing GVG's effectiveness as a treatment for cocaine addiction published.

2001: Another study showed that GVG blocks cravings in animals trained to expect cocaine in a particular environment.

Dec. 1998: additional research showed that GVG also stopped nicotine's effects in animals.

Aug. 1998: BNL and its collaborating institutions and funding agencies announced research findings showing that GVG stopped cocaine's effects in animals.
