Child Development Center
Brookhaven’s Child Development Center offers a day care program for children between the ages of six weeks to five years. Our emphasis is on each individual child’s process of learning. Our Center is managed by Child Care Management, Inc. and is licensed by the New York State Department of Social Services and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC accreditation identifies the center as accomplishing the highest standards possible for Early Childhood Education and establishes compliance, through professional review, to meet NAEYC’s Highest Quality Early Childhood Criteria. Children of parents who are employees, guests or contractors are eligible to enroll in our Center. We are open between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. weekdays throughout the year except for BNL holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Full-time and part-time enrollment options are available as follows:
Applications are dated when received and placed on the waiting list in the appropriate age group. A letter of acknowledgement of enrollment application will be sent immediately following receipt of application. As children outgrow one particular age group, they are automatically placed on the list of the next appropriate age group in keeping with the original enrollment application date. Upon our commitment to you of a specific placement, we require a nonrefundable deposit of one month’s tuition. This will be applied toward your child’s last month’s tuition. In order to utilize your deposit when leaving the program, we require thirty days notice. Annual physical examinations and current immunizations are mandated by N.Y.S. Social Services prior to entering our program. Each child will be required to have a physical examination within 30 days prior to entering the program. The physical form must be completed by your child’s doctor and given to the office manager before your child’s admission to the Center. Children will not be allowed to attend the Center without a current physical and up-to-date immunizations. The Child Development Center staff can only administer medicine with the Medication Consent Form (pdf) completed for each medication, including over the counter, by your physician. Multiple medications cannot be listed on one form. Parents are required to complete the form for over the counter topical ointments, sunscreen and topically applied insect repellant. We would be happy to talk with you about your child care needs.
