Certificate in Supervision Program
The Certificate in Supervision program is designed to provide supervisors
with the communication, management, and leadership skills they need to meet
the demands of BNL's workplace to ensure a safe, productive environment.
Who Should Attend?
- All new supervisors who have moved from the ranks of individual
contributors, have not supervised employees before, or have been in
supervision for two years or less.
- Experienced supervisors who want to improve their skills or who have
not participated in supervisory training for 10 plus years.
What Are The Benefits For Supervisors?
Supervisors will:
- Gain the skills needed for effectively supervising others.
- Increase their confidence in their ability to manage.
- Meet other supervisors who are facing similar challenges.
- Begin to build a support network throughout the laboratory.
- Prepare for the possibility of more demanding leadership roles.
- Receive recognition from senior management, including the laboratory
director.
How is the Certificate in Supervision Earned?
- Participants must attend all required classes.
- Participants will have three years to complete the training series
in order to earn the certificate.
- Credit will be given for courses previously completed within the
last ten years. Courses taken more than 10 years prior to the
registering for the certificate program (with the exception of New
Supervisor Orientation) will need to be repeated due to significant
changes to the courses.
