  • Weekly movie night
  • The RHIC and AGS is holding the Annual Users Meeting at BNL - May 27 to May 30, 2008.
    While this is a meeting that has workshops on RHIC science and results, this year as part of the meeting a workshop dedicated to issues raising awareness of the under-representation of women/minorities in the field of physics will take place on May 29.
    ASAP has been invited to participate to this event (to include the cocktail hour scheduled right before the session).

  • BORROW- A- BIKE PROGRAM
    Beginning June 2, 2008 the QOL/BERA/Recreation Office will once again have a limited number of bicycles to lend students and guests. There will be safety requirements to communicate, and a BSA account number with supervisor’s signature required, should any damages be incurred. Please note that each department may purchase their own bicycles to keep on hand if they consistently have a need. It is an allowable expense. Contact the Recreation Office on ext 8481 to check for availability.
  • CNY-PR AGEP Alliance would like to invite you to attend this year's conference at Brookhaven National Labs in Long Island, New York. This year's theme focuses on innovation and technology to stimulate an entrepreneurial environment to accelerate technical discoveries.     Interested in meeting with your congressman to discuss support for science? The National User Facility Organization is looking for people to meet with congressmen and senators to discuss the importance of supporting user facilities with them. If you are interested in doing this, email Rene Bellwied with your name, the city and state of the school/facility you are associated with, the city and state you are from, the city and state you are registered to vote in, and the phone number (optional) and email where you can be contacted.

  • Student Swim
    From 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Saturdays. All students and post-docs are invited.  Your first swim is free!
    The pool is closed on Saturday and Sunday from Memorial Day thru Labor Day.
  • BERA Ultimate Frisbee
    The BERA Ultimate Frisbee group meets on Monday and Thursday afternoons at ~5:45pm in the field in front of Currie House during good weather. All are welcome from beginners to experienced players.  Feel free to join the group's mailing list: http://lists.bnl.gov/mailman/listinfo/ultimate-1
  • BERA Social & Cultural Dance Club
    BERA Social & Cultural Dance Club has offered ASAP members a 50% discount to any Friday night social, including special events they sponsor.  You will need to show your BNL ID badge and ask for Rudy.
