Activation Check Reminder

Activation Survey Point Table

Items physically attached to the electron beam chambers, and electron beam stop during operations must be checked for induced radioactivity before they are released from the Experimental Hall. Place items from the experimental hall, which need to be surveyed on the top shelf of the Activation Survey Point Table just outside the west Experiment Hall entrance. Notify the Facility Support Service Radiological Control Technician (FSS RCT) when items are placed requiring survey, (see numbers below.) Examples are: vacuum fittings and hardware, beam diagnostics, magnets and connectors, water hoses and fittings. Lead and concrete shielding equipment must also be surveyed. Electronics and other equipment, which have been located away from the beam chamber, do not need to be surveyed. If there are any questions or if alternate arrangements need to be made contact the FSS personnel listed below.
