ATF Beam Time Allocation

  1. Beam time is allocated according to the requirements of the experiment and the availability of beam time. Requests are to be made by e-mail to Mikhail Fedurin. Schedules of beam time are available here.
  2. ATF operators will start the machine for scheduled experiments at 8:30 AM. The actual run time of the experiment will start at 9:00 AM and this time will be entered in the ATF Operations Logbook as the start time of the experiment. Normal ATF operations end at 5:00 PM. If an experimental program requires time beyond these regular operation times, a duty operator must be identified and a proper shift change take place and recorded in the ATF Operations Logbook.
  3. The accounting of time allocated to each experiment will be based on the records of ATF Operations Logbook. ATF operators will keep a record for all unscheduled maintenance that may take place during the scheduled ATF operation and that time will not be considered as allocated experimental beam time.
  4. It is the experimenter's responsibility to fill the ATF Experiment Logbook. The ATF Experiment Logbook shall include the experiment's name, the task of the day, major machine parameters, timed record of the experiment and a summary of major experimental results.
