SATURDAY, MAY 11TH


Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Celebration

Come and join us in our celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month at the Wang Center! The 5th annual celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month at the Wang Center is co-sponsored by multiple local groups, including BNL, and hosted by the Suffolk County Office Asian American Advisory Board. There will be dance, music, and vocal performances from several Asian countries, multi-cultural booths with arts and crafts displays, workshops, and the presentation of awards.

This year, Dr. Qun Shen, Director of the Photon Division in the Photon Sciences Directorate, was nominated by the BNL APAA for an award and has been selected to be honored at this event as a distinguished Asian American professional. He will be presented with a proclamation by the Suffolk County Executive during the 4:30pm theater performance (tickets required).  Please join us at this event in congratulating Dr. Shen for this recognition!

A Vietnamese Excursion


A visual tour of Vietnam

Join us for an excursion to Vietnam through film. Starting in Ho Chi Minh City, this tour of Vietnam takes you to the beaches of Lang Go, the city of Hue, the capital Hanoi, and the remote highlands near the Chinese border. Immerse yourself in the wonder and beauty of a traditional country with 4,000 years of culture and history.

A Celebration of Chinese Culture through Music & Dance

Indulge your senses with the warmth of traditional Chinese folk arts to the electrifying avant-garde interpretations of this ancient art form.

This event is FREE and open to the public. Government-issued identification documents, which includes a photograph, such as a passport or driver's license is required for site access for those 16 years of age and older.
