We are proud to announce that we will be granting three $500 scholarships to high-school seniors who will start college in the fall of 2008 and are interested in obtaining a degree in science or engineering.

Applicants should:

• Be a high school senior graduating in 2008.
• Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
• Be accepted by a college for fall 2008 classes with the goal of pursuing a degree in science or engineering
• Be a resident of Long Island in New York state attending Bellport, Longwood, Riverhead or William Floyd high schools.
• Have some degree of Hispanic ancestry.
• Be a US citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card.

Congratulations to them! Each winner received a $500 check.  The award ceremony took place on Friday May 16, 2008 at noon, in Berkner Hall Room B.
