Kathy Ratto’s nephew, Bill, (photo above) was able to call his wife from Iraq. He
mentioned the package he received from BVA AaP and how appreciative
they were. Especially one man in particular because of a fleece
jacket that was included and he had not brought enough winter
clothes. Kathy just wanted to thank everyone for sending a bit of
home to Bill and his group. |

Marcel Rosenfeld (left) and Ed Shea are BNL employees and both
volunteer firefighters in their communities; Marcel at Middle Island
FD and Ed at Quogue FD. Both departments are major contributors to
the Adopt-a-Platoon initiative. Pictured with them is just a small
sample of donated items. We send heartfelt thanks to both of them
and their departments for all their continued contributions and

| I just want to take this
opportunity to thank all of my father's co-workers for their
outstanding support for me and my fellow brothers-in-arms.
Everything you have done has been extremely appreciated and I cannot
put into words the amount of heartfelt gratitude I have for each and
every one of you. I would like to wish you and your families all a
safe and happy holiday this Christmas season. Thanks again, and God

Pictured above are some of the boxes (12 in all) that Adopt A
Platoon was able to ship on 11/20/07 to
110 members of the 503rd Airborne. Some of the items sent were: 30
poncho liners, 50 Balaclavas, 40 fleece watch caps, 110 fleece glove
liners, 110 thermal boot socks, 48 containers of foot powder, 36
pairs of boot laces, microwave, 2 VCRs, DVD player, refrigerator,
120 VCR tapes, movies, food, a Christmas tree, holiday decorations,
and donated goods totaling 500 lbs. Many thanks to the
wonderful personnel at the Upton Post Office who are always so
helpful when they assist us with this huge task. We would also like
to thank all the BNL employees that supported the fundraising event
we held earlier this month, without that support this shipment could
not have taken place! |

BNL employee Gretchen Cisco’s son (photos above) and daughter-in-law,
SGT Charles Cisco & his spouse, SGT Veronica Cisco (photos below). Gretchen reports that they received the packages AaP sent and they want us to know how much it meant to them. There was so much, they were able to share with the others in their platoon. |

 On behalf of the Multi-National Security Transition Command - Iraq "... thank you for the wonderful care package that we received from Brookhaven National Laboratory's Adopt-a-Platoon program. We had a lot of fun going through the box and sharing all the items amongst the staff.
