We would like to thank the five founders of BERA’s Brookhaven Veterans
Association (BVA) for their hard work and tenacity in bringing this club to
fruition. Their concerted efforts and dedication have united former members
of our military who are now BNL employees. BVA bylaws prescribe a limit of
two 2-year terms. Hence, the founders have stepped down after serving their
limit, and we welcome our new officers, wish them well, and look forward to
the continued success of the BVA.

Current Events
- Adopt-a-Platoon's
Annual Book & Bake Sale
- Bakers needed!
All proceeds go towards sending goodie packages to our Troops in
Afghanistan.
- Passing the Hat for the Troops! A group in
Portsmouth, NH does this and we thought it would be nice for us to do
for the platoon we are supporting. The idea is to knit or crochet helmet
liners using wool because it is warmer, safer and less flammable. Dark
colors like green, brown, navy are good so that the caps blend in with
uniforms and dark clothing. If you know how to knit or crochet and
would like to make a helmet liner to donate to our platoon,

Cell Phones for Soldiers Recycling Program

You can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be
sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. It will be sent to
a member of the armed services. Thanks for taking to time to support our
military!
