Discovery Programs

Grades 1-3

This one-and-a-half hour program consists of three twenty-minute sessions, a fifteen-minute Radiation and You program and free exploration time with the museum exhibits.

Mini-Magnets -- Explore the invisible field surrounding magnets.

Sounds Around -- How is sound made? How does it travel? How does it produce different pitches?

Radiation and You -- Learn about natural radiation.

Measurement -- Why do we need a standard unit of measurement?

Blocks and Marbles -- Become engineers! Solve an engineering problem.

Seeing in 3D -- See and create 3D images.

Seeing the Light -- What is a rainbow? Look at color in a whole new way!

Magnifiers and Microscopes -- Concave or convex - which is used in a magnifying glass?

Mirror Magic -- Discover how light travels and all about reflection.
