BROOKHAVEN LAB HONORED FOR DONATING FOOD AND TOYS TO THE NEEDY

Since 1988, the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory has donated more than a quarter of a million pounds of food to needy local residents through Brookhaven Town's INTERFACE Program, which draws on private and governmental resources to help provide for those who otherwise might go without. The Laboratory's employees have donated regularly to the monthly food drive, and they have also been steady contributors to the toy drive each year during the holiday season. Brookhaven Lab's Gregory Ogeka (left) accepts a certificate of appreciation for the Laboratory's participation in the Town's INTERFACE Program from Brookhaven Town Supervisor Felix Grucci (right). With them is Thomas B. Williams, Brookhaven Youth Bureau, who helps coordinate the INTERFACE Program.
