Concert at Brookhaven Lab to Benefit United Way of Long Island, December 6
THIS CONCERT CANCELLED DUE TO BAD WEATHER.
UPTON, NY –The U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory will hold a concert called “Musical Solstice” on Saturday, December 6, at 7 p.m. in the Laboratory’s Berkner Hall. The musical showcase will feature Brookhaven Lab employees expressing their musical talents to raise funds for the United Way of Long Island, a charitable organization that supports the services and programs of 180 health and human service agencies in Nassau and Suffolk counties. All visitors to the Laboratory age 16 and over must bring a photo ID.
Featured performers will be: Pamela Betti and the Bluebloods, playing blues and rock and roll; Kristhen, featuring Henry and Kristy Diaz singing and playing holiday music with acoustic guitar accompaniment; Joe Vignola, playing acoustic country blues; and the Tim Caufield Group, a jazz trio.
Tickets cost $5 per person and may be purchased in advance from the Brookhaven Employees Recreation Association Sales Office in the Laboratory’s Berkner Hall on weekdays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also, tickets will be on sale at the door on the evening of the performance. All proceeds from the concert will be given to the United Way of Long Island. The event organizers also request that everyone attending the concert bring a nonperishable food item for the Brookhaven National Laboratory Food Drive, which benefits local food pantries.
