Theory & Computation

Ping Liu holds joint appointments in the Center for Functional Nanomaterials, where she is a member of the Theory and Computation group, and the BNL Chemistry Department. Ping graduated from Jilin University in 2000 with a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics. She was an assistant professor at the Technical University of Denmark pursuing theoretical studies in catalysis from 2000 to 2002. In 2002, she joined the BNL Chemistry Department. Her joint appointment in the CFN started in 2005. Her research has focused on theoretical description of nanostructures, surfaces and their catalytic applications in cleaning of conventional oil-derived fuels, production, conversion and utilization of non-conventional fuels such as hydrogen, methanol and ethanol.
