Long-Term Response Action Group To Monitor Cleanup

May 2004

As the majority of the active Superfund cleanup programs at BNL changed from construction to monitoring, the Long-Term Response Action Group was formed to assume responsibility for long-term surveillance, monitoring, maintenance, land-use controls, reporting, and community involvement activities required to complete cleanup actvities.

The activities covered are those necessary to protect human health and the environment from residual hazards, as well as other activities to ensure that the implemented Record of Decision remedies remain effective over time.

The Long-Term Response Action Group, later renamed the Environmental Protection Group, is part of BNL's Environmental Protection Division.
