Waste Loading Area To Be Cleaned Up

October 2007

An Action Memorandum for cleanup of the Waste Loading Area at the Former Hazardous Waste Management Facility (FHWMF) was finalized on October 26, 2007. Responsibility for the clean up of the last two acres of the Former Hazardous Waste Management Facility (FHWMF) was transferred to the High Flux Beam Reactor (HFBR) scope of work because the area was to be used for staging and railcar loading of waste from the reactor decommissioning projects. After a decision was made to package the reactor waste at its origin (just outside the BGRR), the area was released for cleanup. The cleanup was documented in the HFBR Record of Decision.
