Bring the family out for a hands-on science fun-filled day! Play with science at our Science Learning Center. Hop aboard a fire truck at our firehouse. Take fire extinguisher training, walk through safe smoke, and learn about emergency preparedness. Be entertained by Mr. Fish’s “Phenomenal Physics” show.
LABORATORY PROTECTION & PLANT FACILITIES
Meet the team that helps the Laboratory go and grow safely;
take fire extinguisher training; visit a “safe house”; use a
thermal imaging camera to see in the dark; climb aboard
large construction equipment and fire engines; obtain a free
DNA ID kit. Walk to activities from parking or Berkner Hall;
no tickets needed. Activities take place from 10am – 4:00pm.
THE SCIENCE LEARNING CENTER
Discover science at the Science Learning Center where you
can see in 3-D; drive a Mars Rover; experience interactive
exhibits that demonstrate basic scientific principles. Bus
Tickets to the Science Learning Center are available at the
Berkner Hall Reception Desk. Buses leave Berkner Hall for
the Science Learning Center every 20 minutes; last facility
visit begins at 3:00pm.

CATCH “A VIEW FROM SPACE”
Send a satellite spinning into orbit around a model Earth!
Track a hurricane from space! Study incredible images of our
planet captured by NASA’s Earth Observing System and more! A
View from Space is designed to introduce visitors to the
latest and greatest of Earth observing satellites and give
them an appreciation for the value of studying Earth from
space. Stop by the Berkner Hall Lobby anytime during Summer
Sundays to check out this exciting new exhibit.
