Visit the Northeast’s largest particle accelerator, where physicists study what the universe may have looked like in the first few moments after its creation. Visit particle detectors as big as a house. Meet Albert “Einstein Alive.”
Take a walk into the tunnel that houses RHIC’s twin accelerators and see where ion beams travel near the speed of light. Visit PHENIX and STAR, two detector experiments bigger than a house and learn about conditions that existed in the universe a microsecond after the Big Bang.
Attend a RHIC overview in Berkner Room “B” to obtain a bus ticket to visit these facilities. Overviews are presented every 20 minutes; last facility visit begins at 3:00PM.

CATCH “A VIEW FROM SPACE”
Send a satellite spinning into orbit around a model Earth!
Track a Hurricane from Space! Study incredible images of our
planet captured by NASA’s Earth Observing System and more! A
View from Space is designed to introduce visitors to the
latest and greatest of Earth observing satellites and give
them an appreciation for the value of studying Earth from
space. Stop by the Berkner Hall Lobby anytime during Summer
