Installation

This antivirus package should not be used on laptops connecting to the BNL network either by using IDAS or a VPN connection. Laptops that will be connecting to the BNL network should install the [ Wireless Officescan Client ].

• Download virus software - Microsoft Windows XP SP1, Windows 98 or 98 SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000 Professional SP3 or above.

• Software Activation Serial Number - This number is to be used by BNL Employee's Only and can only be accessed from home if you have an IDAS or VPN account.
  
  If you are a BNL employee but DO NOT have an IDAS or VPN account, please fill out the online PC-cillin 2005 Activation Request Form to receive the Software Activation Serial Number. You may also contact the ITD Helpdesk directly at 631.344.5522, or Send Email to itdhelp@bnl.gov. After hour or weekend requests will be process by the next business day.

Note:
The Software Activation Serial Number will only be sent to a valid BNL email account. Exchange Users can view their email on the web by linking to BNL's Outlook Web Access (OWA).

1. Get Serial Number
   
   IE Users:
   right mouse click inside serial number window and select "Print Picture" to print a copy of the serial number for future reference.
   
   Netscape Users:
   Write down the the serial number for future reference.

• During installation you will be prompted to enter your name, address, the PC-cillin serial number and then specify the directory where you want to install PC-cillin.
• After accepting the License Agreement (required to proceed), PC-cillin will check and clean your system memory, boot sector, and critical files before installing the program files.
