How to Lock Your Computer

One way to increase security on your computer is to use a password-protected screen saver. All Brookhaven computers are now required to run a password-protected screen saver that will automatically start within 15 minutes of inactivity. Once the screen saver activates on your computer, you will need to type in your username and password to gain access to the desktop. There are several ways to lock your computer, and the method you choose is a matter of personal preference.

NOTE: If you have a Windows PC and it is a member of the BNL domain, your computer already has this protection enabled and you need take no further action.
