Proxy Configuration for the Internal Network
PERL Instructions
Configuring CPAN.pm to use the
proxies
Set the ftp_proxy
environment variable to point to our HTTP proxies at:
- http://proxy.sec.bnl.local:3128
The exact syntax will differ, depending on the shell you're
using. Refer
to the man pages for more information on declaring environment
variables.
- bash users: > export ftp_proxy="http://proxy.sec.bnl.local:3128"
- tcsh users: > setenv ftp_proxy="http://proxy.sec.bnl.local:3128"
Configuring PPM to use the proxies
Set the environment variables as described below. Our HTTP proxies are
located at:
- http://proxy.sec.bnl.local:3128
Setting the HTTP_proxy environment variable should suffice; There is no
need to specify either a username or password.
