Meteorology

• Permanent meteorological stations are being installed on a series of rooftops in New York City with the intent of being used in mesoscale and neighborhood scale models of wind flow over the city.  The data will help to reduce uncertainties and support improved modeling.  The information from this program could be used to provide better models for Emergency Response actions or understanding the impacts of climate change.
   
• Meteorological analysis is provided to support operations at Brookhaven National Laboratory.  This work includes providing accurate up-to-the-minute forecasts during storm conditions and maintaining meteorological equipment at BNL. (Weather page)
