The fifth lift shows the intersection of the slant wall with the back vertical wall
Final excavation of the slant wall
The upper surface of the slant wall fully exposed
A bulb of grouted soil - note the lance hole filled with gelled CS grout
The slant wall was left intact to be used as a verification facility. Several holes were drilled through the barrier and filled with a blended sand. Slotted well casing was installed durig the backfill operation. This will provide sampling ports for tracer studies. The bottom and tops of the wells were survey in as well as several midpoints.
The monitoring wells are straightened as the backfilling progresses.
The end is near! The backfilling of the excavation is nearly complete and the test facility monitoring wells are in place.
The facility is completed. Equipment/monitoring port installation can now begin.
