Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, Diversity
Management and Sexual Harassment prevention training classes are
conducted by the Diversity Office staff.
Training Programs for Staff
Sexual Harassment Awareness and the Prevention of Employee
Harassment training are conducted for laboratory employees to
communicate the laboratory’s commitment to maintain an environment
free from harassment; to provide employees with an understanding
of harassing behaviors and the process for filing a complaint.
Equal Employment Opportunity Representatives
Equal Employment Opportunity Representatives (EEO Reps) attend
regular training to assist them in carrying out their
responsibilities. This training is supplemented by sharing best practices among the representatives and support from the
Diversity Office staff.
Diversity Training Programs
At the request of the department, the Diversity Office will
present cultural awareness programs and training tailored to the
needs of the department.
Special Emphasis Months
Working with employee groups, the Diversity Office staff
celebrates special emphasis months to promote the education and
understanding of various ethnic and cultural groups.
February - Black History Month
March - National Women's History Month
May - Asian Pacific Heritage Month
June - Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual Employees (GLOBE) Organization
September 15 - October 15 - National Hispanic Heritage Month
October - National Disability Employment Awareness
November - National Native American/Indian Month
