Motivation & Plans

The conference, sponsored by the Mathematical, Information, and Computational Sciences (MICS) program and Scientific Discovery through Advanced Computing (SciDac) in the Office of Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR), will bring together network research groups and UltraScience network providers, small businesses that have funded DOE proposals to investigate use of ultra high-speed network to support high-impact applications. The conference is focused on project progress updates, technical exchange and coordination, project results dissemination among these groups.

Topics to be covered include Ultranetwork provisioning, integration of the data intensive applications with the new research networks, technologies to enhance network performance and service quality, and technologies to secure wide area networks and their connected end systems.
