Opportunities for Drell-Yan Physics at RHIC

Motivation

Drell-Yan (DY) physics gives the unique opportunity to study the parton structure of nucleons in an experimentally and theoretically clean way. With the availability of polarized proton collisions and d+Au collisions RHIC provides a unique opportunity world wide to address several fundamental questions in QCD, i.e. parton saturation, universality of transverse momentum distributions. A DY program at RHIC is tied closely to the core physics questions of eRHIC. This workshop will focus on recent progress in these areas by both theory and experiment.

Purposed Sessions

Presentations

Presentations will be mainly by invitation. We expect to be able to accommodate a limited number of contributed talks. If you are interested in presenting a contributed talk, please contact one of the organizers.

Proceedings Information for Speakers

All speakers are to submit a 6-page Proceedings Package consisting of:

The Proceedings Package must be submitted prior to or during the workshop. A paper copy is preferable; however, an electronic copy may be submitted to sfoster@bnl.gov. Please avoid using color since the proceedings are printed in black and white.

Your cooperation is appreciated for timely publication of the proceedings after the workshop. Any questions contact the event coordinator at 631-344-5864 or sfoster@bnl.gov.

Special Evening Events

Registered attendees are invited to attend the optional banquet dinner after the Workshop on Thursday, May 12, 2011.
