GREEN Institute's Open Space Stewardship Program

The first-year celebration of the Open Space Stewardship Program was held on May 24, 2007.  Students met to describe the results of the work they did over the school year.  Parents, teachers, administrators, and elected officials attended to applaud the students' work.  Photos from the event are temporarily here.  (Photos will be moved to the Open Space Stewardship Program's website soon.)

The Open Space Stewardship Program is focused on enabling teachers and students to assist in managing our open space properties on Long Island through scientific research and related activities. Program information can be found here (pdf).

Two planning workshops have been held; the first teacher workshops are planned for summer 2006.

Hampton Bays School District sixth-graders held their first annual beach clean up. Read more here!
