Fire Protection Engineering Team  

Guides the Laboratory in its efforts to control in a cost-effective manner the risks from fire, windstorm, collapse, and other perils normally associated with fire insurance coverage. The goals include protecting people, the environment, property, and programs. The team accomplishes this function by:

• Developing and supporting the Laboratory Fire Protection Policy
• Providing consultations and technical support to all BNL organizations charged with implementation of the policy
• Performing Engineering Design Reviews, Occupational Readiness Reviews, acceptance tests on fire alarm and sprinkler systems, internal audits of the Fire Protection Program, life safety surveys, and fire hazard analyses
• Serving as the contact for all external appraisals
