Brookhaven
National
Laboratory
is hosting a
workshop to promote the formation of research partnerships
between the faculty at colleges and universities in
designated EPSCoR states and the scientific staff from DOE
national laboratories and facilities.
The workshop is sponsored by the Department of Energy
(DOE) and co-sponsored by the National Science Foundation
(NSF). Project leaders and participants in both the DOE and NSF
Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) are encouraged to attend and provide technical
poster presentations.
All conference participants are asked to submit an
abstract of their research activities or for EPSCoR
Contacts, updates on the states EPSCoR program for which
they are responsible.
The meeting will be held at BNL, on May

limited to 150 researchers from the 20 EPSCoR states
(including Puerto Rico) and Department of Energy national
laboratories.
Primary Objective
The primary objective of the meeting is to provide a
forum for research scientists from the EPSCoR states to:
- Report advances in EPSCoR funded research
activities
- Update their knowledge of Department of Energy
programs and initiatives
- Learn about BNL national user facilities and
research directions
- Explore opportunities for collaborative research with
Department of Energy scientists
- Develop plans for mutually beneficial
collaborations
- Learn about DOE laboratory opportunities for training
and hands-on research experience for undergraduate and
graduate students, for postdoctoral fellows and young
faculty
The Department of Energy Office of
Science supports basic research in the following topic
