g-2 Tritium Investigation
BNL's enhanced groundwater protection program includes monitoring wells near the AGS g-2 experimental facility.   Levels above the drinking water standard for tritium were detected in groundwater sampled from these wells. The source was an activated soil-shield near a magnet in the experimental beamline.  Several corrective actions to elminate this source have been completed.  The tritium in the groundwater will effect neither on-site nor off-site potable water supplies.
