Technical Advisory Group

The Technical Advisory Group (TAG) was established in 2001 as part of the agreement between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Department of Energy that established the Upton Reserve.  This group serves two basic functions.  The first is as a sounding board for natural resource issues.  Under this function the TAG reviews management documents, actions, and results of management actions in order to provide input into BNL’s Natural Resource Program.  The second function is for the review and recommendation for funding research projects associated with the Upton Reserve.

Membership

The TAG consists of members from the following organizations:

  • BNL
  • Citizens Advisory Committee
  • Brookhaven Executive Roundtable
  • New York State Department of Environmental Conservation
  • The Nature Conservancy
  • The Long Island Pine Barrens Joint Policy and Planning Commission
  • U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
  • Suffolk County Parks
