Safety Solutions Program  S2_Logo

The BNL Safety Solutions (S2) Program is designed to seek out health and safety improvements and corrective actions derived from employee suggestions. The S2 program helps demonstrate BNL's commitment to make safe operations an integral part of the BNL operating philosophy. 

The S2 Program is open to all BNL employees, users, and visitors.  Selection of projects is made by a team representing BNL science, operations, and support organizations.  The team reviews S2 proposals and awards funding to those projects that best meet the criteria listed below.

 

Criteria for Ranking S2 Proposals  

  • The project improves worker health and safety by one of the following
    • Increases awareness and involvement of staff in health and safety issues.
    • Eliminates or significantly reduces an occupational safety and health hazard.
    • Corrects or prevents a noncompliance to a health or safety requirement. 
  • The project has an identified champion who will implement the project to completion.
  • The project can be fully funded within the fiscal year.
  • The project has a high likelihood of successful implementation.

S2 Proposal Submission Form (submit electronically in [.doc] format) to selvey@bnl.gov

S2 Proposals for the next funding cycle are due by February 15, 2013. Proposals received after that date will be accepted but may not be considered until the next year.
