The Safeguards & Security Division manages the enforcement of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws at BNL. All New York State driving rules and regulations are enforced.

The Staff Services Division manages and maintains the fleet of government motor vehicles at BNL. See Government Vehicles Subject Area for more information.

BNL staff and non-BNL staff must follow the regulations for driving privately owned or government vehicles on-site and for riding privately owned or Laboratory-owned bicycles on-site. Failure to follow regulations may result in a citation being issued for a traffic violation and disciplinary action.

DOE, Office of Science One of ten national laboratories overseen and primarily funded by the Office of Science of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Brookhaven National Laboratory conducts research in the physical, biomedical, and environmental sciences, as well as in energy technologies and national security.
