ESOL Mission Statement:
World, One Person at A Time"
The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program supports
the Laboratoryís mission in its endeavor to create a safe, welcoming
workplace, and community environment.
ESOLís focus is to assist persons with BNL or BSA guest badges,
users, post-doctoral students, visiting appointments, and members of
their immediate families. Classes are provided to help improve their
English skills and public speaking abilities. Classes include beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels that address their
educational needs along with supplementary cross-cultural programs
that enhance communication awareness among our diverse population.
In addition, the ESOL program also assists BNL members (users,
post-docs, and scientists) with professional development skills such
as: speech writing & delivery, cover letter, resume, & CV
reviews/updates, and interview preparation(s) & methods.
Email Ted Sampieri or call
him at 631-344-4894 to join one of the
free English classes
available for those who work at BNL, their spouses, partners and
children ages 14 and older.
