Higher-order structural modularity provide the essential framework to local modularities of subunit and to rationalize the overall presentation of the consequent macromolecules. In this presentation, the multivalence of an oral DNA vaccine will be exemplified as platform technology for vaccine design. The protein domains of an HIV Env immunogen will also be demonstrated, as its tertiary modular units can direct the targeted quaternary organizations with discrete states of defined metastable conformations.
