"PIENU Experiment at TRIUMF: Precise measurement of the pi -> e nu decay"
Presented by Dima Vavilov, TRIUMF

Hosted by: Mary Bishai
The PiENu experiment at TRIUMF aims to precisely measure the ratio of the decay widths of pi->e nu to pi->mu nu. It provides the best test of electron-muon universality in weak interactions and is a sensitive probe for New Physics beyond the Standard Model at a scale up to 1000TeV. The experiment started a physics run in September of 2009 and by the end of 2012 collected about 10 million events of the pi->e nu decay. Analysis is in progress. The talk will cover the physics motivation of the experiment, its experimental and analysis techniques and the current status.
