Presented by Randolph Leising
Monday, April 15, 2013, 11 am
Bldg. 815, Conference Room
Hosted by: J. P. Looney
This presentation will focus on recent research in new battery systems developed to power small wearable medical devices. Challenges and solutions to meeting specific performance requirements for these power sources will be highlighted, as well as the development of unique measurement techniques for these systems. Manufacturing these batteries under GMP conditions for human use trials will be discussed, as well as safety & abuse testing, long-term stability tests, and exposure to gamma-radiation for sterilization. Discussion of future trends in electrochemical energy storage will also be presented.
