1. Info Session to Discuss Deputy Director for Science & Technology Search

    The Lab community is invited to attend an informational session Thursday, August 8, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., in the Hamilton Seminar Room (Bldg. 555) for a discussion about the search for the next Deputy Director for Science & Technology at the Laboratory. As announced in the Monday Memo of July 22, a search committee has been formed to conduct a search, seek input from the Lab community and others, and review candidate qualifications. The person selected as the new Deputy for Science & Technology will serve an important role, working closely with the Laboratory Director, the Deputy Director for Operations, associate and assistant Laboratory directors, the Science and Technology Steering Committee of the Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA) Board, and the U.S. Department of Energy to chart the Laboratory's future directions in science. Several members of the search committee will attend this meeting to answer questions and discuss the qualities members of the Lab community would like to see in the new Deputy Director.
