All-employee Meeting and Reception
Thursday, August 15, 2013, 3 pm
Berkner Hall Auditorium
Hosted by: Doon Gibbs, Laboratory Director
Join Laboratory Director Doon Gibbs for an all-employee meeting on Thursday, August 15, from 3 to 4 p.m. in Berkner Hall to talk about the Lab's 10-year Strategic Plan. The strategic plan describes our overall view of the Lab's science and technology portfolio, our vision for the future, and the path forward over the next 10 years. The plan is built on two main pillarsâ€"Energy Science and Technology and Origins of Matter and Massâ€"together with other smaller initiatives. It also categorizes the mission readiness of our infrastructure to accomplish our science and technology mission. All together, it serves as a big-picture guide to how we see the future. Although we have a 10-year outlook, we refine the plan each year through a series of retreats with the science and support ALDs, the science chairs, and selected division headsâ€"and then present it to the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science. After the meeting, Laboratory Director Doon Gibbs would also like to take the opportunity to say "thank-you" to the entire Lab community for its hard work during the last six months. We have made a lot of progress, and although there is plenty left to do, he would like to acknowledge our collective accomplishments. In appreciation, please join Doon immediately following the all-employee meeting for a reception with light refreshments in the Berkner lobby from 4-5 p.m.
