1. All-employee Meeting With Doon Gibbs

    Please join me for an all-employee meeting on Friday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. in Berkner Hall. With the ongoing partial government shutdown, we've remained in contact with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) while we continue to monitor the overall situation in Washington, D.C. While we expect to remain open for the time being, including through next week, I want to share with you our short- and long-term plans to manage the government shutdown's impact on the Lab going forward. We expect a large turnout, so please carpool or walk to Berkner, if possible. To accommodate additional overflow, the meeting will be simulcast in the Hamilton Seminar Room, first floor, Bldg. 555. For those of you who cannot attend the meeting in person, a live webcast will be available at www.bnl.gov/video. A video recording of the meeting will be archived there as well. I recognize that this budget uncertainty creates significant distraction for all of us.
