"Optical and Magneto-optical Studies of Type-II Excitons in Stacked ZnTe/ ZnSe Quantum Dots"

Optical and magneto optical investigations were performed towards understanding the fundamental physics and material properties of excitons in stacked ZnTe/ ZnSe submonolayer QDs with type-II band alignment. Particularly interesting is the observation of excitonic Aharonov- Bohm (AB) effect in these systems which is revealed via magneto-PL emission. Detailed analysis of the AB signature indicate presence of built-in electric field in the system. Spectral analysis of the AB effect was developed into a fine probing tool to distinguish different QD stacks within the ensemble system and also determine the lateral excitonic size with sub-nanometer precision.
