When booking your hotel, remember that you are only a little over an hour’s drive from New York City, and that you are just minutes away from Long Island Wine Country, the famous Riverhead Tanger Outlets, and, of course, just a short drive from The Hamptons.

Lodging at Brookhaven (on-site housing)

Brookhaven has limited onsite accommodations which will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see the section below called "Accommodations Near Brookhaven" for a complete list of area hotels.

Please Note: Due to a required review process, all Non-U.S. Citizens must be registered and approved in the BNL Guest Information System (GIS) if they plan to stay onsite. U.S. Citizens staying on-site for more than 2 days must also be registered and approved in GIS. Registrations received after the due date may not receive approval in time for onsite accommodations.

• All reservations are guaranteed and must be paid if not cancelled by 1:00 pm. on the day of arrival.
• Fees for onsite lodging are paid directly to the Housing Office, Building 400, upon check-in. Cash or Credit Cards (Visa, AMEX, Master Card) are accepted.

Accommodations Near Brookhaven

While the immediate vicinity around BNL has no large hotels, these establishments are within 45 minutes drive of the Lab. If you decide to stay offsite, it is your responsibility to call the local hotels directly and make your reservation.

The following two hotels are the closest to Brookhaven National Laboratory in distance (approx. 15-20 minutes in driving time). A major credit card will be necessary to hold your reservations until you check in. Check BNL's Hotels & Accommodations website for additional listings.

  The Hampton Inn is located at exit 63 on the Long Island Expressway (BNL is north of exit 68). You probably should rent a car for transportation.

One of ten national laboratories overseen and primarily funded by the Office of Science of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Brookhaven National Laboratory conducts research in the physical, biomedical, and environmental sciences, as well as in energy technologies and national security.
