Employee Assistance Program

 

Brookhaven's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free confidential service (available 24 hours - 7 days a week) and is provided through Magellan Health Services.  There's no cost to you and your eligible household members to use this program which includes 1 - 5 free visits per family member per calendar year, per identified program.

From online information to confidential consultations with licensed behavioral health professionals, you and your eligible household members have access to a wealth of practical solution-focused resources to help you reduce stress, strengthen relationships, increase productivity and improve the overall quality of your life.

You can quickly get help in a way that works best for you:

  • By Phone - Call to get a consultation and solutions to everyday problems as well as help in a crisis.  You will get access to resources or a referral to a professional in your community for confidential help.  Magellan Health Services can be reached at 1-800-327-2182. When you call, say that you are employed by "Brookhaven Science Associates".
  • Online - Log on to locate counselors in your area.  Find targeted information and resources that address your everyday concerns as well as more serious issues.  Interactive tools help you discover ways to live a healthy lifestyle.  Magellan Health Services are available online at www.MagellanHealth.com/memberYou will find information, health and wellness tools, and resources on topics such as:

    • Stress
    • Family and relationships
    • Grief and loss
    • Alcohol or drug concerns
    • Work-life balance
    • Health and wellness (including an online personal health assessment)
    • Depression and anxiety
    • Living healthier

There are also many other services available through this program such as:

  • Legal and Financial Consultation Services - where you can speak with an attorney to discuss your legal concerns.  You may choose to have a phone or in-person consultation with a local attorney.  Either way, the initial session is provided at no cost to you. Visits or calls are completed within 60 minutes.  You can be connected with a financial expert for a telephone consultation through your program.  You may speak with someone right away, or a financial counselor will call you back within three hours.  Phone consultations are at no cost to you and are completed in 60 minutes.
  • Identity Theft Assistance - provides a variety of support services to guide members through fraud-related emergencies.
  • Geriatric Case Management - where an assessment can be requested for a parent, grandparent, spouse or household member.  In addition, you can request an assessment for other close family members who may not reside with you, such as a sibling with special needs.
  • Discount Program - where you and your family can save up to 40% on products and services with easy-to-use search tools and discount codes for entertainment, travel, home, personal and much more.
