Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

In Person Onsite or Offsite

In collaboration with the extensive resources of nationally-recognized, Cigna Behavioral Health, employees, their spouses, children or anyone living in the employee’s home are eligible for EAP services for 1-3 free visits per family member per calendar year. Retirees are also able to use this service as well. If an employee/family member has a new "identified problem" in the same calendar year, an additional set of 3 free visits can be authorized. For the sake of convenience, family members do not have to be seen here onsite at the Lab, as may be easier for the employee. Family members can access a Cigna EAP-network clinician in their community and make an appointment at their convenience. Cigna maintains a wide database of experienced clinicians who have a wide range of expertise in many areas that are catalogued onto the Cigna computers. You can be assured of the clinical expertise of the Cigna EAP providers, because they are required by Cigna to re-credential on a regular basis and keep practice information up-to-date. When you use a Cigna EAP provider, no fees are charged, no money changes hand, and the provider is paid directly by Cigna. Please note that you need not have Cigna Health Care as your designated health plan in order to use the free EAP benefit available to your family members. EAP is provided to all employees and their immediate family members no matter what their designed health plan is at BNL.

To access a Cigna EAP clinician in your community call: 1-877-622-4327 or visit www.cignabehavioral.com as a “Member” (User ID: bnl; Password: employee). It is always better to come to the EAP office in Bldg. 490 to ascertain which providers are currently accepting new patients for your identified problem area, and first get the appointment for the initial consultation with the provider prior to making the call to Cigna to obtain the authorization number.

Employees who wish to see the Onsite EAP Manager, please call X4567 for an appointment.
