Management and Employee Development Programs

Individuals may attend courses relevant to their job responsibilities with supervisory approval. Class size is limited, so register as early as possible.  You will receive a confirmation memo approximately two weeks before the course.  If the class is full, you will be given priority for the next scheduled session of the class.  Staff Development courses (beginning with PE) are free of charge.  There is a charge for IMS (Institute for Management Studies) courses. Contact Starr Munson for more information.

Course Registration

Individuals may be scheduled to attend programs with supervisory approval as follows:

  1. The employee may be recommended for training by the Supervisor or the Department/Division Training Coordinator. In this method, Human Resources notifies Management and Training Coordinators of the upcoming program and calls for participant names on a priority basis. Those participants then receive an invitation to the class. The Supervisors and Training Coordinators are copied on the invitation.

  2. Employees may request to attend Staff Development courses by informing their Training Coordinator or Supervisor that they would like to attend. If approved by the Supervisor, the Training Coordinator will send a memo to Human Resources requesting the employee receive an invitation. Employees may also complete the online Request for Training Form.

For more information, contact Starr Munson for the onsite Staff Development courses and IMS (Institute for Management Studies) courses.
