3. Safeguards Requirement Identification
The Section for Customer Services and Operations needs an additional resource in
developing the next generation Safeguards desktop as part of the Integrated
Safeguards Environment.
The CFE should have significant experience in designing and implementing
Microsoft Windows XP and Vista used desktops. In addition, he/she should
have experience in Group Policy in Active Directory as it relates to Users and
Machines (PC/Laptops).

The SGIM/ICO/CSU will use the CFE to support the Engineering effort to develop and implement the next generation desktop that will access the new ISIS (IRP) environment.
3.3 Consequences if task is not performed:
Delays in provision of secure access desktops and laptops to Safeguards Confidential and Highly Confidential information.
4. IAEA Proposed Work Outline:
4.1 Major task stages with timing:
CFE to start work
from March 2008.
Ongoing
assistance with CSU until March 2009.
The tasks are
ongoing throughout the expert's tenure. Outputs, in order of priority,
include:
Technical IT Engineering of Desktop Configuration.
Documentation of As-Builts and Configuration Settings.
Anomaly handling procedures.
Group Policy Setting Development
Desktop Security Configurations in compliance with NSA Windows XP Standards
Active Directory Configuration for effective User and Hardware Management
SG Application Integration and testing
Maintenance processes for all of the above
