Subject: Request for
Software Architect for SAL ILIMS Project (Task D.156)Dear Ms. Hoffheins,
The IAEA Safeguards Analytical Laboratory recently learned that the senior technical leader of the ILIiMS project (formally called SALIMS) will be leaving the Agency in September 2008. In order to mitigate a major schedule delay, the Agency seeks the services of a software architect consultant. To expedite the placement, a special service agreement (SSA) subtask is proposed under Task 0.156 (USA D 1523). The consultant should have the following qualifications:
Experience with, and knowledge of, modern data modeling and architecture methodologies, including the authoring of software requirements documents and software design documents.
Knowledge of modern programming methodologies such as object-orientation and test-driven development.
Experience leading a team of software engineers in the development of major software projects.
Knowledge and familiarity with the Java programming language.
Experience working with SQL -compliant relational databases.
It is also desirable that the individual have knowledge of the physical sciences as evidenced by study degree in an academic area such as chemistry or physics.
I would also like to express the appreciation of the Agency for the valuable contribution provided by the United States Support Programme to the Agency's safeguards efforts.
Yours sincerely,
N. Khlebnikov
