Connecting to a shared directory on the IIS Web Server
The procedure below will only work if your ITD Web Services has
already setup your website with a "SHARED" directory of your parent
or root web.
Mapping a "Network Drive"
- <Start><RUN>
- Type in the space provided: <\\ncompass2>

- <OK>
- <Right mouse click> on your "shared" web folder and select
<Map Network Drive>

- Use the default <Drive> path or select another one by using
the drop-down arrow.
Your <Folder> path should be already filled out.
Make sure <Reconnect on logon> has been checked.

- <Finish>
Use the procedures below if the does not work for you…
- Select <Tools><Map Network Drive>
- Use the default <Drive> path or select another one by using
the drop-down arrow.

Insert the correct path to your website in the <Folder> field.
For example: \\ncompass2\BNL (see image
below)
Make sure <Reconnect on logon> has been checked.

- <Finish>

Making a Desktop Shortcut:
- <Start><RUN>
- Type in the space provided: <\\ncompass2>
-

- <OK>
- <Right mouse click> on your "shared" web folder and select
<Create Shortcut>


- You can also just Drag or <Copy> and <Paste
Shortcut> the directory to your desktop or to some other
place else.


MAC Users:
The procedure below will only work if your ITD Web Services has
already setup your website with a "SHARED" directory of your parent
or root web.
- Select <Finder>
- Select <Go><Connect Server>
- Insert the development server IP address into the
Server Address field shown below.
< smb//130.199.130.204 >
- Press <Connect>
- Insert your correct BNL/Light_Source/Rhic_902 domain
password, press <OK>
- Select your correct "SHARED" directory fro the
pull-down. This will make an SMB Mount on your desktop
