IE Security Settings
Intranet Zone Setup
Use the screen captured images below to setup your browser's intranet
zone.
- In Internet Explorer, click Internet Options on the
Tools menu.
- On the Security tab, click the Local Intranet
picture.
- Click the < Custom Level > button.


By default, the Security Settings should be is set to
"Medium-low".
- You may scroll down this list and crank-down the security
settings further if you like. If not, leave the default settings
alone. If your not sure if the settings are correct, press the
<Reset> button.
- Click OK .

By default, the Logon option
under the User Authentication section should
be is set to
"Automatic logon only in Intranet zone". Scroll down and make
sure it is.

By default, the Display mixed
content option under the Miscellaneous section should
be is set to
"Prompt". Scroll down and change it to "Enable" if you
want to get rid of the
Display mixed content message alert box you see in your browser
( see below ).
- When finished, click the Ok.

- Click the < Sites
> button.

- Leave all boxes checked.
- Click the < Advanced... > button.

- Use the "Add this Web site to the zone" field shown below
and add the following web sites;
- http://intranet.bnl.gov
- https://intranet.bnl.gov
- Your window should look like the image below after you have
added the sites.

- Click OK, OK, OK...
- That's it.
