Notice on the Use of Licensed Electronic Resources

The BNL Research Library purchases access to licensed electronic resources for the noncommercial, educational, or research use of the BNL community and those who are physically present in the library. Copyright law and contractual license agreements govern the access, use, and reproduction of these resources. Permitted uses generally include: downloading, temporarily storing or printing discrete, reasonable portions of the materials. Prohibited actions generally include posting

copyrighted materials on a publicly accessible website; systematically downloading, distributing, or retaining substantial portions of information indefinitely; removing, obscuring, or modifying any copyright or other notices; modifying or creating a derivative work from the licensed resource; or commercial exploitation of the licensed information. The use of software such as scripts, agents, or robots is prohibited and may result in loss of access to these resources for the entire BNL community.
